Acceptable use

This acceptable use policy sets out the rules for using vermietfabrik.de. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions and protects our clients, property owners and the platform against misuse and fraud.

1. Purpose

Vermietfabrik is a platform for finding and applying for long-term rental homes. Please use it only for this purpose, honestly and with consideration for others.

2. Honest information

• Provide only truthful, complete and current information about yourself.
• Apply only in your own name, or on behalf of another person only with that person's express authorisation.
• Do not create more than one customer account and do not share your account with others.
• Upload only documents that are genuine and that you are entitled to share. Payment confirmations must relate to a transfer you actually made.

3. Prohibited activities

In particular, you must not:

• submit false applications, use false identities or impersonate another person;
• impersonate Vermietfabrik or its staff, for example in emails, messages or advertisements;
• request payments from other people with reference to our properties, or offer properties from our platform elsewhere as your own;
• forge, alter or misuse invoices, rental agreements, viewing permits or their verification codes;
• upload content that is unlawful, offensive, discriminatory or that infringes the rights of others, or upload other people's personal data without a legal basis;
• harass, threaten or insult our staff, property owners or other users;
• send spam or unsolicited advertising through the contact form or other channels.

4. Technical misuse

You must not:

• read out content automatically with bots, scrapers or similar tools, or copy it systematically, except by search engines and assistants in accordance with our robots.txt file;
• circumvent or test security measures, access restrictions or rate limits without authorisation;
• upload malware or files that could damage our systems;
• place an unreasonable load on the platform or disrupt its operation.

5. Protection against fraud

We never ask for payment before an application has been approved, and we only ask for payment by bank transfer to the account shown on your invoice and in your customer account. If someone asks you for money in connection with one of our properties in any other way, or you notice a suspicious offer using our name, do not pay and report it to info@vermietfabrik.de. Please include as much detail as possible, such as emails, messages or bank details.

6. Reporting security issues

If you discover a security vulnerability, please tell us at info@vermietfabrik.de and give us reasonable time to fix it before you disclose it. Do not access, change or delete data that does not belong to you. Our security contact details are also published at /.well-known/security.txt.

7. Consequences of breaches

If we have specific indications of a breach of this policy, we may, depending on its severity, remove content, reject or cancel applications, temporarily or permanently block accounts and report criminal offences to the police or other authorities. Claims for damages remain unaffected.
